This from Race Captain Dave:
The race started with tons of debris coming downstream. Five boats sailed – Raven, Mo-B-Dick, Tabasco, Spam, Sleazy Dog. Course S31S31S, marks to port. Current 2 knots, Wind North 5-8. Race abandoned 1.5 hrs into it when it became apparent that no one would reach the 1st mark. Sleazy Dog last seen in the main channel floating backwards with enough speed to keep her spinnaker filled. The fleet retired to the North Dock to consume the Rum prizes.

- Mo-B-Dick at the start
- You know its a light air day when race committee goes upriver faster than the racers – in a rowboat!
- Sleazy Dog starts the day off with some nice spinnaker work
- Spam and Sleazy got the furthest before the wind died.
- Tabasco, Spam and Sleazy, all sailing well near Sand Island
