From Race Captain Bob:
A bully race, simply bully!
Now that was fine sailboat racing weather. Wind out of the north at about 15+ and warm. The river was slightly lumpy, but nothing outrageous. Everyone moved smartly, er, well, everyone moved rapidly through the course. We had two new entries for the second series — Surprise and Aeolus adding to the competition. We now have two Merit 22’s and they look like they will make good competition for each other. In this race they finished within seconds of each other. Entertainment was provided when a White Whale drove into a cul-de-sac and showed pluck in demonstrating how to make a dignified exit from an “ah, shucks” (I think “ah, shucks” would be what was said) situation. Good thing none of the rest of us have ever been there.
It was a good day for sailboat racing!

Sorry I didn’t get more photos. I couldn’t be bothered to leave the comfort of my living room to head out into the heat and shoot from the beach.
Those of you with cameras – if you get photos of sailing that you’d like to share, send them my way and I’ll put them up on the site, or you can get your own login for the site and post them yourself.
